Youth STEMM Award Winners

STEMM Award

The Youth STEMM award is very much like the "Duke of Edinburgh" award but for Science Technology Engineering Maths and Medicine. Fakenham Academy had 7 girls achieve their award this year - the first year it had been run - and had their medals and certificates presented to them at a very glitzy event at UEA.

During the course of the year we have had Millie speak to Tim Peake in Space and two weeks worth of Science and Engineering assemblies. The Awardees have taken part in projects with Norfolk County Council helping to market and publicise their Future You app, Sheringham Shoal wind farm, the Institute of Physics. They have attended school and college open evenings and made speeches at national events.

We are very proud of all they have achieved and hope that this will inspire them and other to look at STEMM careers. We look forward to taking part in this great award again this year.
