Year 7 History Students Build Medieval Siege Weapons

Year 7 History students have been studying Castles as their topic this half term. We have looked at the main types of Castles built asfter the Norman Conquest in 1066; Motte and Bailey, Stone Keep and Concentric Castles. In our penultimate lesson of they year, we looked at how castles came under siege and what sorts of weapons could be used to attack a Castle. We then took this a step further and, using the ultimate Medieval construction material - LEGO, we built our own versions of a Mangonel (catapault) and a Siege Tower!

Well done to Year 7 for their hard work and creative thinking in re-creating these weapons.
