Y11 Football vs APHS

On Wednesday, Fakenham Year 11 had their first game of the season against APHS.  Fakenham were up for the game as we had never lost to Wells in the five years of playing them.  The game started and Fakenham were quickly on to the attack and sooner than later we capitalised with the ball breaking down in the box and Sam. D heading home from close range.  Soon after we won our second penalty of the game.  Our team all decided that is was only right to let Jack. F have the penalty as he was making his school team debut.  He didn't let his previous miss faze him as he struck this one in the bottom right corner.  The third goal came just before half time.  A lovely corner floated in by Sam. D found the head of Alfie. G who powered it in.  Although we were in full control of the game, we still found ourselves conceding a goal to a set piece.

Straight away Fakenham were on the attack with chance after chance.  We soon took one with Mylo scoring two in quick succession.  A brilliant show of close control around their defence epitomised how much of a problem Mylo was causing.  The next goal was Alfie.C who had been very unlucky not to score before.  To finish of the goals was Charlie. S.  A good finish to the top right where the keeper had no chance.

Overall, a good performance to start the season from all players and manager to secure the three points.
