U18 Norfolk Badminton Schools Tournament

On Saturday 5th November 2017, eight Fakenham Academy students went to the U18 Norfolk Badminton Schools Tournament which was held at the Open Academy in Norwich. It was a early start for us all! Arriving at school at 8am so Mrs Price could take us on the minibus then returning around 7pm. A rather long day!

Many of us played singles matches and doubles matches, some played mixed too. It was very tough as we were up against strong county players who have been playing at this level for some time. We started and ended with 100% effort, aiming to get the points. Many of the results were losses but there were also wins which were great.

Hopefully playing people at a high level will help us improve our own badminton. We can then put the shots and feet movement into our games at school and in matches to win points and games. We are all good players and should not feel down by the results.

Final stop was McDonalds, Badminton is a very healthy sport!

Overall the day was very enjoyable and the following people played very, very well...

Joanna Barton

Kerry Lee

Kirk Myhill

James Barrett

William Warnes

Tyler Cater

Tom Flint

Charlie Page
