This week, 30 years ago, Phil Collins was top of charts with 'A Groovy Kind Of Love', the 1988 Postal Workers Strike ended and the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Team were about to compete at the Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, and go on to win 5 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals.
It was also the week that Jean Allen, Catering Manger, joined Fakenham High School as it was known then.
On the 12th September, Jean celebrated 30 years at the institution and was presented a floral bouquet on behalf of the Principal and Staff by Susan Moore, Student Records Controller
Calculating how many school dinners that have been served over the last 30 years, Im sure, would be a formidable mathematical question that would challenge any of our A Level students. Is there an equation for custard?
Joking aside, congratulations on your long service anniversary! You have been such significant part of our team and we couldn't imagine our workplace without you. Your work often goes unnoticed in the background in the days of school league tables and results, but without you and your team the Academy would simply not be able operate.
