Head Boy - Charlie de Jong Cleyndert
Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m the Head Boy - a role that I am honoured to have. I remember first coming to the Academy for an Open Evening as a Year 6 student. I listened to the speeches by the Head Prefects about the school and the opportunities available. I felt absolutely inspired and made the decision to work hard towards the Head Boy position, so that I was one day able to stand in their place.
I certainly feel like I have made the most of my time at the Academy so far; I play clarinet in the school band, have participated in sporting events, completed scholars programmes through Cambridge University and achieved my Latin GCSE. I have also been involved in promoting the school, being a member of the School Council and mentoring younger students.
Outside of school I have a part time job which keeps me busy over the weekend. I also enjoy art, swimming, and obviously eating chocolate and playing Xbox.
I am really looking forward to being able to give something back to a school that has given me so much already.
Head Girl - Maya Stagg
Hi my Name is Maya Stagg and I am the head girl for this academic year.By applying for this role I wanted to focus on expressing my ideas on aspects of school life, listen and reacting to opinions given by students and overall be a supportive and positive role model for every year group.
Throughout my time in Fakenham I have participated in a number of different extra-curricular and educational activities, organised by the school. Netball has been one of the clubs that has really taken my interest, being part of a team and working together to achieve is such an important experience and can be extremely rewarding! I also enjoy playing the double bass in the school bands. These opportunities give students the chance to learn and play a musical instrument and perform in the end of term concerts and I believe this is a fantastic thing. Thanks to the school, many students have had the chance to work with and alongside important colleges and universities in projects, discoveries and a number of competitions involving other schools. By taking every opportunity given to you, I believe every student will achieve and even exceed their potential.
For this year our aim will be to make as many opportunities for students as we can, giving everybody a chance to engage and participate in school life!
