FAN v Stalham High School (U14 football)

Fakenham travelled to Stalham on the back of a very successful last season, where they won the league at their first attempt. Both the teacher and students alike thought that this would continue into this season.

Despite playing some great football and never giving Stalham much of a look at goal, Fakenham lacked the killer instinct to put the ball in the back of the net. Windy conditions did not help, but sadly Fakenham let Stalham in with one incisive break away and they scored. Stalham did this again, despite the game being dominated by Fakenham.

Fakenham managed to claw a goal back late on and even though they restricted Stalham to playing in their own half for the majority of the game, Stalham took the three chances they were given and won the match 3-1.

The boys were very upset about this loss as the football played suggested a win was most definitely on the cards, but after a trip to the ‘Golden Arches’, the boys were soon looking forward to the next game and desperate to get 3 points.
