Fakenham Academy and College Presentation Evening

The class of 2016 students from Fakenham Academy and College were presented with their GCSE and A Level certificates last week. It was a record level of success in terms of exam results last summer for both year groups. A number of students received their certificates for the English Baccalaureate which awards those students who achieved a GCSE grade C or above in English, maths, science, foreign language and a humanities subject. In the college 23% of the students received the honorary Norfolk Scholar award which identifies students who achieved a high standard at A level.

College students had a particularly successful year in terms of destinations with many moving onto university. Three students are now studying a Oxbridge, and a further two are studying veterinary science and another medicine. Following the presentation of certificates each faculty awarded prizes for their subject. The Principal’s Award was presented to the students who achieved the very best results in the summer examinations for GCSE and A level. Maciej Kozodoj gained the GCSE award, he is now studying A Levels at Fakenham College and Abbie Currington, who is now reading Natural Science at Cambridge university, was presented with the A Level Award having achieved 4 A*s.
