For this you need to pick 5 different verbal or non verbal communication skills and one alternative method of communication and assess (look at the strengths and weaknesses) how useful they are when talking service users at The Maltings. Remember that the the service users are young adults with learning difficulties who have hearing and visual impairments, English as an additional language and some without speech.

Based on a case study of an elderly service user, you must evaluate the effectiveness of methods used to reduce communication barriers. Do they work? What might be better?
