French national day celebrations at the UEA with a group of Year 9 students. On the 14th July a group of year 9 students were invited by the UEA to celebrate “le quatorze juillet”-”Bastille Day” through 2 workshops and a visit of the University of East-Anglia. They all enjoyed very much the different types of quiz and role plays that reinforced different topics where all students did extremely well. Lunch was then eaten in the main square, followed up by a guided tour of the University and a visit of the Sainsbury Arts centre with our own Language Ambassador from the university. The day finished by the historical background of the French national anthem-”la Marseillaise” where students understood the meaning of this song and its historical background, whilst listening to it being sung by Miss Rose and the UEA French tutor! A very big thank you, as always, to Mrs Stone for helping us organise this trip and for driving us there. On another note, well done to all the students taking part who impressed everyone with their enthusiasm and politeness. Bravo Fakenham!
