Civil Contingencies Manager Meets Fakenham College A Level Geographers

Fakenham College A Level Geographers, were fortunate to by visited by Richard Cook, Civil Contingencies Manager, North Norfolk District Council. The students have been undertaking coastal flood risk fieldwork on the north Norfolk coast, combining studies of beach responses to the 2013 and 2017 storm surges which hit the north Norfolk coast with potential impacts upon coastal communities. Richard was able to make our students aware of the practicalities of his role and what this means when a flood evacuation takes place on the north Norfolk coast. This also fits in with our local area studies and research, which is a core element of the new A Level Geography course.
